After 13 years, Avatar: The Way of Water, the second installment in the Avatar film series, finally hit US theaters today.
A week before its theatrical release, Boxoffice Pro predicted that the epic sci-fi film’s domestic opening weekend in North America would be between $167 and $192 million and that its overall domestic gross would be between $662 and $861 million.
Avatar: The Way of Water premiered in London on December 6. It received generally positive to mixed reviews from critics, who praised James Cameron’s direction, as well as the cinematography, production design, and visual effects.
On Monday evening, the cast and a few celebrity guests came out in full force for the Los Angeles premiere of the movie.
Aside from Zoe Saldana, who led the style pack in a structured Schiaparelli Fall 2022 Haute Couture creation, Hollywood’s finest, including Heidi Klum and Sigourney Weaver, brought their fashion A-game to the LA premiere of the film.

1. Heidi Klum in Lever Couture
She may not be part of the cast of Avatar: The Way of Water, but Heidi Klum literally made waves on the blue carpet with her Lever Couture gown.
Known for her over-the-top Halloween costumes, the 49-year-old model perfectly encapsulated the theme in an ethereal one-shoulder gown from the German fashion house’s “Leleka” collection, which debuted at the Rakuten Fashion Week in Tokyo.

Made from sheer diaphanous silver fabric, the gown featured cascading fluid-like panels that created an illusion of moving water. The label stated in an Instagram post that it was designed to create an “aquatic shine” befitting the occasion.
It also had a fitted bodice that showed a glimpse of her side boob, a sculptural sleeve, and a daring thigh-high slit that allowed her to parade her $2.2 million insured legs.

Staying true to the theme, Klum wore a slicked-back wet-look hairstyle and donned smokey eyeshadow with a hint of shimmer, mascara, and pale pink lip color.
The Making the Cut host then let her gown take center stage by keeping her accessories simple, wearing just a pair of diamond earrings and a few dainty rings.

A pair of Gianvito Rossi “Elle” mules rounded out Klum’s water-inspired naked look. These mules have a clear PVC panel across the toe, a pointed metallic outsole, and a 4.4-inch thin stiletto heel.

Posing alongside Klum was her guitarist husband, Tom Kaulitz, who coordinated with her in a silver suit with a matching metallic button-up shirt and black slip-on sneakers.

2. H.E.R. in a Black Blazer Minidress
The five-time Grammy-winning singer is starring in the musical TV special Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration, which aired on ABC on Thursday, December 15, and is now streaming on Disney+.
Prior to the release of her musical, H.E.R. was pictured parading her legs in a black blazer minidress at the LA premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water.

She looked sharp in her sleek outfit that featured a figure-hugging silhouette, wide satin lapels, boxy sleeves, and a thigh-skimming hem, selected by her stylist Wouri Vice.
The Best Part singer kept the look monochromatic by teaming her double-breasted suit dress with black strappy heels that had thick platforms, thin ankle straps, and towering heels.

H.E.R. then opted for minimalist jewelry that included a pair of stud earrings and a statement ring on her middle finger.
For her glam, makeup artist Marissa Vossen applied blue eyeshadow on H.E.R.’s lids and added winged eyeliner and matte nude lip color. Hairstylist Nina Monique, meanwhile, pulled her tresses back into a snatched ponytail.

3. Halle Bailey in Balmain
Disney’s new Princess Ariel graced the blue carpet in a revealing two-piece look, teaming a gold tube top with a pair of black trousers.
Her metallic top hails from Balmain’s Resort 2023 collection. It has a cleavage-baring strapless neckline with braid trims and an asymmetrical structured hem, while her low-rise pants feature a wide-leg silhouette with a subtle flare.

Halle kept the gilded look going by accessorizing with gold jewelry, including a statement choker, dangling earrings, a watch, and bangles.
She tied her outfit together by slipping into a pair of pointed-toe pumps by Alexander McQueen, featuring studded gold toe caps and gold-tone pin heels.
Beauty-wise, Halle wore winged eyeliner and a neutral pout. She then completed her look by styling her tresses into long knotless braids with a gold-colored headband.

At one point, the 22-year-old singer can be seen posing with her rapper boyfriend DDG, who wore a brown and black checkered jacket over a black tee.
He completed his outfit with black pants and black square-toe platform shoes.

4. Viktoria Modesta in On Aura Tout Vu
The Latvian-born British singer went the futuristic route in a risqué black gown by French fashion house On Aura Tout Vu, known for dressing famous stars such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Madonna.
The couture house is also popular for its surrealist styles and avant-garde silhouettes, evident in Viktoria Modesta’s outfit.

Hailing from the Spring/Summer 2022 collection, Modesta’s black gown featured a one-shoulder silhouette, a form-fitting ruched satin mini skirt, and a torso-baring cutout.
It also had sheer panels that were strategically placed to cover her modesty, finished with an airy maxi skirt.

As a musician, Modesta is known as a Bionic Pop Artist. Her leg was injured during her birth, and she had it voluntarily amputated in 2007.
And for the event, she collaborated with Anouk Wipprecht to create a silver prosthetic leg that would match her futuristic look.
Wipprecht shared on Instagram that “the original leg has a motor based mechanism with a light spike and LED that illuminates the mirrored inside of the leg, making a cool light effect when the mechanism moves.”

Modesta then paired the look with United Nude black heels featuring thick ankle straps and toe straps.

5. Sigourney Weaver in Valentino
Sigourney Weaver, who is playing a new character in Avatar: The Way of Water, showed off her fashion prowess at the premiere of her latest movie.
The tall actress put on a sophisticated display in a Valentino Resort 2023 ensemble that included a white button-down shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a gold sequined tulle maxi skirt with a short train that you can buy for a whopping $21,000 price tag at Net-A-Porter.

Weaver styled her look with a Valentino Garavani Loco bag, done in a different shade of gold, a serpent bracelet in gold and diamond, and a pair of diamond earrings.
In the first Avatar film, the 73-year-old actress originally appeared as Dr. Grace Augustine, a human who takes the side of the Na’vi and dies during the conflict. And in the second installment, she has been cast as Kiri, Jake and Neytiri’s adopted teenage daughter.
