Her documentary, “Halftime,” premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, offering fans an intimate look at her career, artistry, and resilience. On June 5, 2022, Jennifer was honored with the Generation Award at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. According to MTV, this lifetime achievement honor is given to “beloved actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names.”
The multi-hyphenate star began her career as a Fly Girl on “In Living Color” before landing her breakout role in “Selena.”

Since then, she’s starred in beloved romantic comedies like Maid in Manhattan while also developing a successful music career.
Jennifer joined a long list of beloved stars and past award recipients like Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, and Sandra Bullock.
In her tearful acceptance speech, Jennifer thanked everyone from her family to her supporters and detractors.
“I want to thank all the people who told me to my face or when I wasn’t in the room that I couldn’t do this. I really don’t think I could have done it without you. And I know I couldn’t have done it without the fans.”

Jennifer also thanked her children “for teaching me to love” and gave a shoutout to longtime manager Benny Medina. She ended her speech by saying, “Ben and everybody at home, wait for me to have dinner! I’ll be home by seven.”

On Instagram, Jennifer shared a video of herself posing for photos on the red carpet. She captioned it with a simple “Hi” and then posted another photo to thank MTV and her “incredible team.”
The “Marry Me” actress celebrated another win that night, receiving the Golden Popcorn for Best Song for “On My Way.”
