Ahead of the 95th Academy Awards, Donatella Versace decided to stage Versace’s Fall 2023 fashion show on the rooftop of the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, marking the Italian luxury fashion house’s first runway show in the city in over 20 years.
“This collection starts from the understanding and appreciation of the body that we have always had in our heart at Versace,” Donatella Versace said in a statement.
“We applied the lessons learned in the Atelier to ready-to-wear: the construction, the tailoring, the beauty of fabric. This is a celebration of our craftsmanship and understanding of true luxury.”

Unsurprisingly, given the more accessible location, the show attracted a slew of A-list stars, with the likes of The Hiltons, Anne Hathaway, Demi Moore and her daughter Rumer Willis, Gabrielle Union and her husband Dwayne Wade taking up the front row seats.

1. Anne Hathaway Stuns in a Dominatrix Croc-Embossed Mini Dress
Arguably the best-dressed star of the evening, Anne Hathaway served looks in a black crocodile-embossed patent leather mini dress with shoulder straps, a convex neckline, and a thigh-skimming mini skirt with structured pleats.
She elevated the edgy look by donning a pair of $10 Calzedonia 20 Denier Ultra Comfort sheer tights with Versace’s “Aevitas” platform boots crafted in Italy from patent leather.

Celebrity stylist Erin Walsh curated the Les Misérables star’s chic look, styled with a $69,000 Bulgari “B.Zero1” necklace with a small round pendant in 18kt white gold and pave diamonds and a Serpenti Viper two-coil bracelet in 18kt white gold, set with full pavé diamonds.
She stayed true to the dominatrix vibe of her all-black look by wearing her brunette hair down in natural waves, care of Eduardo Méndez, and concealing her eyes behind a pair of $345 Versace ’90s Vintage Logo cat-eye sunglasses.

2. Paris Hilton Sparkles in an Iridescent Mini Dress
While most attendees wore black, Paris Hilton stood out in a sparkling silver mini-dress that showcased her slender pins.
The 42-year-old businesswoman, who welcomed her son Phoenix with husband Carter Reum in January, flaunted her slim figure in the thigh-grazing mini-dress littered with light-catching crystals. It also had a sweetheart neckline, finished with skinny shoulder straps.

She completed the disco look with her signature crystal-embellished sheer cutoff gloves and matching glittery silver pumps with mesh trims.
Beauty-wise, Paris straightened her waist-long Barbie blonde hair and allowed it to cascade over her shoulders. She completed her glam with dark, smokey eyeshadow, eyeliner, and nude lipstick.

3. Nicky Hilton Looks Polished in a Black Midi Dress
Paris’ sister Nicky Rothschild has earned her reputation as a style icon. She did look the part as she attended the Versace runway show in a form-fitting black midi dress from the Italian luxury fashion house.
Available at Farfetch for $3,350, the Versace number pays homage to vintage atelier styles with its V-shaped corset boning. It came finished with a plunging neckline and a crystal-adorned Medusa motif on the left shoulder strap.

4. Kathy Hilton Gets Cozy in a Glittery Fur-Trimmed Coat
The Hilton matriarch coordinated with Nicky and chose an all-black ensemble for the occasion.

5. Dua Lipa Is Classy in a Maxi Dress
Dua Lipa attended the Versace runway show in a bespoke black maxi dress from the house’s fall 2023 collection, tailored to fit her toned figure.
The Versace gown featured a fitted silhouette and a structured sweetheart neckline kept in place by V-shaped straps.
Anwar Hadid’s ex-girlfriend showcased her body tattoos in the glamorous dress styled by Lorenzo Posocco with jewelry by Milan-based jeweler Vhernier.

The 5’8″ singer wore the Calla Bracelet in 18k rose gold, 18k white gold, and diamonds, and the Tonneau sculptural ring in 18k white gold adorned with diamonds.
In addition, she accessorized with multiple stud earrings and a pair of strappy Versace Fall 2023 pumps, which were barely visible from underneath her maxi gown.
Nail artist Kim Truong gave her a milky French mani while Chris Appleton swept her jet-black hair to the side in loose curls. Completing her glamorous look, makeup artist Samantha Lau applied eyeliner, mascara, and mauve lip color to the One Kiss hitmaker’s face.

6. Gabrielle Union Embraces the Hooded Gown Trend
Jumping on the hooded gown bandwagon, Gabrielle Union pulled out all the stops in a black midi dress with a hood that dropped to a dangerously low navel-deep plunging neckline.
Crystals and metal beads cascade down the right side of the rather plain black long-sleeved gown, which stylist Thomas Kikis finished with open-toe platform heels.
Drawing further attention to her torso, the Bring It On star wore a long, diamond necklace with a crescent moon pendant encrusted with sparkling diamonds.

Hairstylist Larry Sims slicked her tresses back underneath the hooded gown while makeup artist Fiona Stiles gave her smokey bronzed eyeshadow with nude lipstick.
Union was accompanied on the red carpet by her husband, Dwayne Wade, who brought a splash of color to the front-row seat.
He wore a double-breasted salmon-pink suit adorned with black and gold buttons that complemented his watch, ring, and necklace.

7. Cher Wows in a Blue Jumpsuit
Proving age is just a number, Cher, 76, showcased her slim figure in a blue jumpsuit with a corset bodice adorned with studs and crystals.
She kept the look monochromatic with a coordinating metallic blue leather jacket and a pair of metallic ankle boots with platforms and block heels.
Styled with a few diamond rings, Cher wore her raven tresses in voluminous curls flowing over her shoulders. She then applied pink lipstick and matching blue eyeshadow to complete her outfit.

8. Demi Moore in Y2K Skirt-Over-Pants
Y2K fashion is clearly making a huge comeback this year. The skirt-over-pants trend, one of the most controversial trends of the early aughts, was spotted on Demi Moore at the Versace fashion show in LA.
Gracing the front row with her look-alike daughter Rumer Willis, Moore layered an embellished midi skirt with an asymmetrical hem over a pair of wide-leg trousers.
She teamed the 2000s trend with a daring see-through sheer top worn underneath a fitted long black blazer.

Keeping the look monochromatic, Bruce Willis’ ex-wife carried the Versace “Repeat” mini leather shoulder bag, featuring a biker-inspired style with diagonal silver-tone zippers and Medusa hardware. It’s available at Mytheresa for $1,650.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, opted for an elevated laid-back maternity outfit for the event.
The 34-year-old actress, who announced her first pregnancy with her indie singer boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas in December, hid her baby bump in a black scoop-neck mini dress worn over a long, structured coat.
