The idea for The Out-Laws took root when writers Ben Zazove and Evan Turner shared the concept with Adam DeVine in 2016.
Although initially jotted down in a notebook, the idea was rediscovered a few years later, leading DeVine to see its potential and collaborate with the writers to develop the movie. Filming for The Out-Laws commenced in October 2021, just weeks after Adam DeVine’s wedding.
