Spotted this pump from Jeffrey Campbell among the new arrivals at Nordstrom the other day. Do you agree with me that this just might be the least Jeffrey Campbell-ish shoe ever?

We’ve already gotten so used to Jeffrey Campbell’s crazy, funky and sometimes bizarre shoe designs that these Garret bow pumps look really out of place in the collection.

If it weren’t for the bright two-tone color combinations and the Jeffrey Campbell label printed on the insoles, I wouldn’t believe that these pumps are by Jeffrey Campbell.

For one, it’s a tame platform peep toe shoe design. Two, it’s only got a simple 4 3/4″ stiletto and none of the exaggeratedly high or chunky heels. Three, the upper is only a “safe” suede without any embellishments whatsoever. Could Jeffrey Campbell really have designed this shoe?

Turns out, the answer is NO. The Garret is actually only a knockoff of none other than this classic Valentino bow pump:

Valentino Bow Platform Pumps, $795

A signature bow adds dimension and charm to a glossy peep-toe pump, steadied by a slender wrapped heel and platform

Well, I guess the fact that it’s a knockoff makes the Garret a very Jeffrey Campbell-ish shoe design after all.
