1. Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso
Ted Lasso is an American college football coach recruited to coach AFC Richmond, an English soccer team. He is frequently mocked for his quaint optimism and lack of sports skills, but with time, he wins others over with his sympathetic, upbeat coaching style.

Having started in improv comedy, Jason Sudeikis is an American actor and comedian who was signed on as a writer for the NBC sketch comedy program Saturday Night Live in 2003. From 2005 to 2013, he appeared as a cast member in nine seasons.
Following his departure from SNL in 2013, Sudeikis appeared in the highly regarded movies Colossal, Downsizing, Sleeping With Other People, Horrible Bosses, Horrible Bosses 2, and We’re the Millers. He also participated in his then-fiancée Olivia Wilde’s debut film Booksmart.

In 2020, the 47-year-old actor co-created and landed the lead role in the Apple TV+ sports comedy series Ted Lasso, which brought him four Primetime Emmy nods, two Golden Globe trophies, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
In addition, Sudeikis has played recurrent parts in the comedies 30 Rock, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Portlandia, and The Last Man on Earth.
2. Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton
Rebecca Welton is the compassionate but vicious owner of AFC Richmond, who initially hires Lasso to undermine the team but gradually grows to adore him.

Hannah Waddingham is an English actress and singer renowned for her role as Rebecca Welton in the comedy series Ted Lasso, for which she earned the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022.
Moreover, the 48-year-old actress has performed in several West End productions, such as Spamalot, the 2010 Regent’s Park staging of Into the Woods, and The Wizard of Oz as the Wicked Witch of the West.

Waddingham also participated in the ensemble cast of the 2012 Les Misérables movie, and in 2015, she became a part of the HBO drama series Game of Thrones as Septa Unella.
In addition to playing a supporting role in Sex Education and a brief part in Hocus Pocus 2, she co-starred in the 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge.
3. Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent
Roy Kent is a seasoned box-to-box midfielder, AFC Richmond captain, and eventually assistant coach. The main inspiration for Kent was the brash Irish former player Roy Keane.

British actor Brett Goldstein got his start in short films and he made his TV debut in two episodes of The Bill, an enduring police drama on ITV, in 2009. He had multiple comedy appearances between 2012 and 2016, including in Channel 4’s Derek, E4’s Drifters, and BBC One’s Uncle.
Moreover, the 42-year-old actor portrayed Danny, the personal trainer for American TV legend David Hasselhoff in Dave’s parody series Hoff the Record.

TV producer Bill Lawrence employed Goldstein as a writer for the 2020 Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, and as a result of his work on the series, he was cast as former football player Roy Kent.
In 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, a post-credits scene featured Goldstein as Hercules, making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, and is expected to play this role in future MCU films.
4. Juno Temple as Keeley Jones
Keeley Jones is a prominent model and influencer who works as a cheerful and open-minded PR Consultant for AFC Richmond before launching her PR and marketing firm.

Juno Temple, the daughter of filmmaker Julian Temple and producer Amanda Pirie, is a London-born and raised actor, who began acting as a child in the 1997 film Vigo: Passion for Life.
The 33-year-old actress received positive reviews from critics as a teen for her performance as Polly in Notes on a Scandal, starring Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench.

Temple also appeared in minor and supporting characters in films such as Atonement, The Dark Knight Rises, Maleficent, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
While the actress succeeded in television thanks to shows like HBO’s short-lived Vinyl and Dirty John, she is primarily renowned for portraying Keeley Jones, for which she received an Emmy nod.
5. Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard

Brendan Hunt is a well-known American actor and writer who has voiced two characters in the video game Fallout 4 and appeared in We’re the Millers and Horrible Bosses 2.
The 51-year-old actor and writer, who also contributes as an executive producer on Ted Lasso, co-created the character for the NBC Sports shorts in which Sudeikis initially played him.
While residing in Amsterdam with the series’ co-creator Joe Kelly, he introduced Sudeikis to soccer while playing FIFA on the PlayStation between improv performances.

After his return to the country, Hunt created and appeared in a one-person show on life as an American abroad. It was followed by Absolutely Filthy, based on an adult Pig Pen from the Peanuts comic strip.
Hunt performed onstage and participated in Reno 911!, Community, and Parks & Recreation. He has also appeared in Bless This Mess and Key & Peele and provided voiceovers for Curious George and the Animaniacs.
6. Nick Mohammed as Nathan “Nate the Great” Shelley
Nate was introduced as a humble but committed kit man for AFC Richmond and was subjected to much cruelty and abuse by some other athletes, particularly Jamie Tartt.

Nick Mohammed rose to fame when he played Nathan “Nate the Great” Shelley in Ted Lasso, but he has long been a beloved comedian in his native United Kingdom for over a decade.
Then, the 42-year-old actor started appearing in television shows, including Life’s Too Short and The King Is Dead, as well as the comedic series Sorry I’ve Got No Head and BBC Radio 4’s Nick Mohammed In Bits.

His first prominent motion picture appearance was as Tim Grimes in 2015’s The Martian and Bridget Jones’ Baby. Mohammed’s big break arrived when he appeared in Intelligence alongside Friends actor David Schwimmer.
7. Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt
Jamie Tartt was initially portrayed as the stereotypical bully. However, it was later discovered that Tartt’s violent father, who appears to believe his son is never competent enough to play professional football, was most likely the root of Tartt’s terrible behavior.

English actor Phil Dunster is well-known for his roles in the drama series Strike Back, the science fiction series Humans, and the comedy-drama The Trouble with Maggie Cole.
When he was younger, the 30-year-old actor played rugby but later discovered he was too little after an unsuccessful tryout for the London Irish. And when rugby didn’t work out, Dunster thought about joining the military like his father and older brother, but that changed after he turned 16 and had his first acting experience in a radio drama.

He gained his first professional onscreen acting credit in a minor role in the 2013 film The Film-Maker’s Son and earned an acting diploma from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School the following year.
His filmography includes Megan Leavey, Catastrophe, Murder on the Orient Express, Judy, and The Good Liar.
8. Toheeb Jimoh as Sam Obisanya
Sam Obisanya is one of the few athletes on the team who is not from England but instead from Nigeria. He is among the team members most adored by his teammates and was among the first to develop a bond with Ted.

Toheeb Jimoh was born in the United Kingdom, but when he was young, his family relocated to Nigeria and then moved back to Brixton, London, when he was seven.
His character was initially intended to be from Ghana but was adjusted to reflect his Nigerian ancestry.

Before his international breakthrough in Ted Lasso, the 25-year-old actor made a name for himself in the UK when he portrayed Anthony Walker in the BBC One drama Anthony, which envisions Walker’s life if he had survived the racist attack that claimed his life in 2005.
The Feed on Prime Video was his second foray into acting, which catapulted him to fame.
9. Cristo Fernandez as Dani Rojas
Dani Rojas is the energetic young forward from Mexico who joined the AFC Richmond team midway through the first season.

Mexican actor Cristó Fernández is most known for his role as Dani Rojas in the comedic series Ted Lasso on Apple TV+.
When he was 15, his love of football earned him a spot on Estudiantes Tecos Club of the Liga Premier de México. Sadly, a severe knee injury eventually ended his professional football career.
He chose to pursue another career because his parents encouraged him to do so, and while he was a college student, he developed a love for acting.

Fernandez studied screenwriting at the University of Guadalajara, where he eventually started performing in his projects because he couldn’t find anybody else to play the lead role.
After graduating, the 32-year-old actor relocated to England to begin his master’s degree while working as a bartender to support himself. He performed in minor independent films but struggled to obtain work in the UK before being cast as Dani Rojas.
10. Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins
Leslie Higgins is the cautious and playful Director of Football Operations.

Jeremy Swift is an English actor who studied acting at the Guildford School of Acting from 1978 to 1981.
Throughout the 1980s, he primarily worked in theater productions, collaborating with companies including Deborah Warner’s Kick Theatre and the comedy performance art group The People Show. He also made countless appearances in television commercials at this time.
He appeared at the National Theatre in the 1990s in Phyllida Lloyd’s What the Butler Saw production starring David Tennant and Richard Wilson.

The 62-year-old actor appeared in movies, including the family adventure Mary Poppins Returns, the period drama Amazing Grace, and the crime drama Gosford Park.
He also previously appeared in the film National Treasure, Vanity Fair, Foyle’s War, Downton Abbey, and The Durrells.
Swift is married to Mary Roscoe, who portrays his wife, Julie Higgins, on Ted Lasso.
11. Sarah Niles as Dr. Sharon Fieldstone

Sarah Niles is a British actress best known for playing Dr. Sharon Fieldstone in the comedy series Ted Lasso, for which she earned an Emmy nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2022.
The 35-year-old actress has primarily appeared in theatrical works with the Royal Shakespeare Company, including Anthony and Cleopatra.
Niles portrayed Tituba in a sold-out Old Vic production of The Crucible that was broadcast to theaters across the UK and abroad. She co-starred with Paul Kaye, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, and Danusia Samal in Guillermo Calderón’s play B at the Royal Court in 2017 as Carmen.
